A symbol of centuries of Old World craftsmanship. The badge that proclaims absolute accuracy, stability and unyielding strength. A perfectly tuned instrument that will play as good as it looks for generations to come. When you purchase a Vitalie you are not buying just a "pool" table. A Vitalie is much more. They are fine home furnishings that are also the world's most precisely crafted pocket billiard tables.
Characteristics of Vitalie:
Vitalie lines use solid 8/4 two inch thick lumber in their cabinet construction maximum strength is achieved by keeping the length of each part as short as possible (the shorter any object is, the more force it takes to bend it). this is why there are four corners and body aprons instead of long body aprons that are joined at the corners like the other brands. The body aprons are 25% shorter, up to 50% thicker and thus stronger and resistant to sagging with the weight of the slate over the years.
The parts are joined with duel dowel pins. The shear strength of dowels is unmatched. Dowel pins fit very tightly and must align perfectly or they do not fit at all.
All Vitalies have an oversized, matched, precision honed, natural slate bed with a slate liner. Oversized simply means the slate extends beyond the visible playfield so the top rails bolt through the slate. the slate liner acts as a buffer to help eliminate vibration.
